TSU Service Learning

COMMUNITY SERVICE INFRASTRUCTURE

Vision

To collaboratively build infrastructure for general community service at TSU through Student Affairs in partnership with the Center for Service Learning and Civic Engagement that will: (1) promote volunteerism; (2) provide resources and opportunities for student involvement in the community; (3) match student organizations with community agencies; (4) nurture student-community relationships; (5) document all general community service performed by student organizations.

 Goals

1.    Improve retention 

2.    Encourage civic engagement, leadership, and responsible citizenship

3.    Develop systems for documenting and valuing service as an important part of the mission of the      university

 Community Service Council (CSC)

An umbrella organization composed of community service chairs/co-chairs of all TSU Student Organizations that will be the way volunteer opportunities are communicated to student organizations, community service is documented, and student organizations are partnered with community agencies for long term relationships.
