Tennessee Board of Regents

The Center for Service Learning and Civic Engagement was awarded a $50,000 Access and Diversity grant in 2007 to support the following activities:

 

  • The implementation of service learning in the TSU College of Education
  • Creation of a reading clinic at McKissack Public School where TSU education
  • Students can work with struggling readers in Kindergarten through eighth grade
  • Development of a recruitment video highlighting education service learning efforts in Davidson and Sumner counties
  • Events bringing K-12 students to TSU who are involved in tutoring/mentoring activities with TSU students
